More context. More responsive care.

Special Populations extends the patient-centered principles introduced in your foundation course. Its focus is thoughtful adaptation: understanding the patient’s account, considering communication and support needs, avoiding assumptions, and coordinating care within the practitioner’s existing role. The planned program includes at least 3 instructional hours, plus assessment. Full lesson materials are in development.

Eligibility follows your professional role

Special Populations is supplemental to the individual’s appropriate GDF or GDPC foundation. It does not change the underlying professional category, convert a Fundamentals ID Number into a GDPC Credential Number, or establish Practitioner eligibility. Medical-assisting credentials, CNA credentials, and IV course certificates alone do not qualify someone for the licensed Practitioner pathway. Fundamentals remains the only course available on student enrollment alone.

Learning and credential continuity

Narrated modules are being prepared with English audio and captions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Haitian Creole. Assessment requires a passing score of 90%. Special Populations does not create a separate renewal cycle; continued standing follows the applicable foundation credential requirements. Your permanent GDF or GDPC number remains distinct from your current active status.

A method of care within your existing scope

GentleDraw teaches a patient-centered method of care. It does not provide, replace, or supplement the clinical qualifications or legal authority required to perform a medical procedure. It does not expand, grant, or modify scope of practice. Work only within your existing authorized role, required supervision, organizational policies, and applicable jurisdictional rules for consent, safety, infection prevention, and clinical care.

Build on your appropriate foundation

Special Populations is currently available for preorder. Lesson access begins when the course opens on November 1st 2026. Complete the appropriate GDF or GDPC foundation and meet the applicable eligibility requirements before pursuing this distinction.
